Booking & Consultations
Start with a consultation request through our Appointments page. Already know which artist you'd like to work with? Choose them directly. Not sure who would be the best fit? That's okay, too. Tell us about your idea and we'll help point you in the right direction.
For custom work, yes. A consultation gives you and your artist a chance to talk through the idea, placement, size, style, and all the important details before anything gets put on the calendar. It's also where we turn the “I have this idea…” into an actual plan.
Absolutely. If you know who you want, go for it. Each Acme artist has their own style and strengths, so choosing an artist whose work fits your idea is a great place to start. Not sure who makes the most sense for your project? We'll help you figure it out.
It depends on the artist, the project, and their current availability. Smaller tattoos may have more flexibility, while larger or ongoing projects usually take a little more planning. The best way to find out is to submit a consultation request. We'll take it from there.
Preparing For Your Tattoo
Get some sleep. Eat a real meal. Drink plenty of water. And show up ready to get tattooed.Avoid coming in exhausted, dehydrated, or running on an empty stomach. Your body has a job to do, and we'd like to make that job a little easier.
Wear something comfortable that gives your artist easy access to the area being tattooed. Depending on the placement, your artist may have specific recommendations ahead of time. The goal is simple: be comfortable and make sure your artist can do their job without fighting your wardrobe.
Please do. Eating a proper meal before your appointment can help you feel more comfortable and keep your energy up while you're being tattooed.A snack beforehand is better than showing up hungry, especially for a longer session. And yes, bringing a snack or drink with you is a good idea, too.
Please do. Reference images are a great way to show your artist what you're drawn to, whether that's a particular style, color palette, subject, or overall vibe.Just remember: references are inspiration, not a blueprint. Your artist will use them to create something original and suited to you.
Tattoo Questions
There's no one-size-fits-all price for a tattoo. Cost depends on things like size, placement, complexity, the artist, and how much time the piece will take.Your artist will discuss pricing with you during the consultation so there are no surprises when it's time to get started.
Yes. Cover-ups are their own kind of puzzle, and the existing tattoo plays a big role in what can be done.Send us a clear photo of the tattoo you're looking to cover along with your consultation request. Your artist can then take a look and determine what approach makes the most sense.
We love references. We don't copy another artist's work.If you've found something you love, send it along and tell us what caught your eye. Your artist can use that as inspiration while creating something original for you.
While Acme is primarily an appointment only shop, there may be days our artists are available for walk-ins. Follow our social media accounts for announcements.
That's kind of our thing.Every custom tattoo starts with a conversation. Bring us a fully formed idea, a handful of references, or just a weird thought you've been carrying around for six months. We'll work with you to turn it into something that's made specifically for you.
Aftercare
Your artist will go over your aftercare instructions with you before you leave your appointment. You'll also receive written instructions so you don't have to rely on remembering everything once you get home.If you have questions while your tattoo is healing, reach out. We'd rather you ask than spend three hours Googling questionable tattoo advice.
Healing varies from person to person and depends on the tattoo, placement, and how well you care for it afterward.Your artist will walk you through what to expect and what to watch for during the healing process.
Not right away. Your new tattoo needs time to heal, so you'll want to avoid swimming and soaking it while it's healing. That means pools, hot tubs, lakes, oceans, and long baths are off the list for a little while. Your artist will give you specific aftercare instructions and let you know when it's safe to get back in the water.
Questions happen. If something doesn't look or feel right, don't panic.Reach out to us and, when helpful, send a clear photo along with a description of what's going on. We'll help you figure out what to do next.
