Erin Coghlan
Erin Coghlan has wanted to tattoo since they were 16. After studying art and earning their degree, they finally followed that obsession into an apprenticeship with a supportive mentor and began tattooing professionally in 2019.
Their work blends illustrative blackwork and color with inspiration from botanical illustrations, antique imagery, Victorian and medieval art, woodblock prints, etchings, and all the wonderfully strange things that catch their eye. Erin loves creating plants, animals, portraits, fantastical creatures, ornamental pieces, and imagery with an old-world feel. The weirder, the better.
They have a particular soft spot for illustrative blackwork florals and portraits, especially lady heads, old-world imagery, and pieces that let them puzzle together a design around a client's vision. Give Erin some creative freedom and they’re right in their element.
Outside the studio, Erin spends their time painting, playing video games, watching anime, and hanging out with their cat, Pierogi. In the chair, they want every client to feel welcome, comfortable, and free to be themselves- and leave with a custom piece of art and a smile.
And if Erin suddenly gets quiet while you're being tattooed? Don't worry. They're probably just concentrating really, really hard.
